Position Title: Senior Support Analyst
Duration: Full Time
Location: New York, NY

Job Description:
The Senior Support Analyst acts as a subject matter expert for BAU and project work, with a strong emphasis on ensuring ongoing operational system availability. Having a proven Production Support background within Investment Banking is not essential but what is essential is that the applicant has strong Murex abilities as well as technical skills in areas such as Linux/UNIX, SQL, Perl, Scripting, in addition to having an analytical and methodical mindset in their day to day role.

The Derivatives PSS team currently perform a number of manual tasks. As a result the Senior Support Analyst will need to work with global counterparts in the team and will be expected to drive a number of automation improvements that will lead to greater efficiencies within the team. In addition to working on the automation project, the analyst will also being involved with incident, change,  problem and release management as well BAU Production Support

You will have direct interaction with global business teams, third party system suppliers, infrastructure teams and other application development teams. Therefore you will be expected to demonstrate strong communication skills.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
 • Automate tasks, improve efficiency within the team. Learn and maintain in-depth knowledge in multiple systems, ensuring production stability across applications and interfaces
• Ability to prioritize work to successfully deliver service to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing technical environment
• Prior exposure to Follow-the-Sun support models to deliver consistent global service
• Working to resolve problems and incidents of varying complexity to enable services to continue to run
• Track incidents and provide regular request status and progress updates to users Escalating as appropriate during outages and ensure root-cause analysis is undertaken
• Champion fault eradication that will minimize future business disruption
• Maintaining an excellent relationship with the business areas by providing expert advice and precise updates on technical issues relating to the platform or applications
• Share expertise with less experienced team members, providing updates to support guides and coaching as appropriate
• Providing ideas and feedback to the development teams to improve service operation to meet the business objectives.
• Adherence to Change Control and Fault Reporting Procedures
• Be able to produce high quality and concise management information for Senior Management

Qualifications & Skills:
 • Strong knowledge of Murex including its Front Office modules, environments and batches.
• Experience supporting mission critical Derivatives applications such as Clear Vision and Ubix.
• In-depth proficiency with Linux/Solaris UNIX, perl, shell, SQL (Oracle and Sybase), networking technologies
• Knowledge of FX and Rates products would be advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global team and be a team player.
• Ability to resolve problems and incidents across multiple technology areas.
• Experience of automation would be advantageous.
• Configuration and management of vendor or bespoke monitoring toolsets
• Experience configuring ITRS Geneos gateways and rules for monitoring a plus
• Networking concepts & protocols in a trading environment
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and see through to resolution.
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver excellent results
• Needs to have excellent communication skills.
